Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the KNA Catering Solutions website and the provision of catering services, including event catering, wedding catering, daily meals, special diet meals, collection and delivery services.
Last updated: September 2026
By placing an order, requesting a catering service, accepting a quotation or confirming a booking with KNA Catering Solutions, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
01About KNA Catering Solutions
KNA Catering Solutions provides catering services from Table View, Cape Town, including catering for private functions, weddings, corporate events, family gatherings, daily meals and selected special dietary requirements.
Services, menus, pricing and availability may vary depending on the requirements of each booking.
02Quotes and Booking Confirmation
All event and catering bookings are subject to availability.
A quotation provided by KNA Catering Solutions will be based on the information supplied by the client, including the date, number of guests or meals, menu requirements, venue, location, service requirements and any dietary requirements.
A quotation does not constitute a confirmed booking.
A booking will only be considered confirmed once:
- The client has accepted the quotation and agreed to the applicable terms;
- Any required deposit or payment has been received; and
- KNA Catering Solutions has confirmed the booking in writing.
KNA Catering Solutions reserves the right to decline a booking where the requested date, menu, location or service requirements cannot reasonably be accommodated.
03Pricing
Prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR).
Unless specifically stated otherwise, a quotation may not include additional costs such as delivery, venue-related charges, equipment hire, staffing outside the agreed service, setup or breakdown requirements, or other services requested after the quotation has been issued.
Any additional services or changes requested by the client after acceptance of the quotation may result in additional charges. Where reasonably possible, these costs will be communicated to the client before the additional services are provided.
For daily meals, the applicable prices are those confirmed at the time of ordering. Menu prices and meal options may change from time to time.
04Deposits and Payments
KNA Catering Solutions may require a deposit or partial payment to secure an event or catering booking.
The amount of any required deposit, payment schedule and final payment date will be stated in the quotation or booking confirmation.
For event bookings, the final guest numbers and any outstanding balance must be confirmed and paid by the date specified by KNA Catering Solutions.
KNA Catering Solutions may require full payment before preparing or delivering certain daily meal orders.
A booking is not secured until the required payment has been received and the booking has been confirmed.
05Changes to Bookings
Clients should notify KNA Catering Solutions as soon as possible of any changes to a confirmed booking.
Changes may include:
- Guest numbers;
- Menu selections;
- Dietary requirements;
- Delivery or collection arrangements;
- Venue or address;
- Event timing;
- Serving arrangements; or
- Other agreed services.
Changes are subject to availability and may result in an adjustment to the quoted price.
For larger events and weddings, final guest numbers and menu requirements may need to be confirmed by a specified deadline. Changes requested after that deadline may not always be possible and may incur additional costs.
06Cancellation by the Client
A client may cancel a booking by notifying KNA Catering Solutions in writing.
Because catering involves advance purchasing, preparation, staffing and scheduling, cancellation charges may apply depending on the circumstances, the amount of notice provided and costs already incurred.
Where a deposit has been paid, KNA Catering Solutions may retain an appropriate amount to cover reasonable costs or losses resulting from the cancellation, subject to applicable South African consumer law.
Any cancellation charge will be determined reasonably, taking into account factors including:
- The date of the event;
- The amount of notice provided;
- Food and other supplies already purchased;
- Preparation already undertaken;
- Staff or third-party services already booked;
- The possibility of replacing the booking; and
- Other reasonable costs associated with the cancellation.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to limit any cancellation rights available to a consumer under applicable law.
07Cancellation Due to Death or Hospitalisation
Where applicable South African law provides a specific cancellation right, including circumstances involving the death or hospitalisation of a person for whom the booking was made, KNA Catering Solutions will comply with those legal requirements.
08Cancellation or Changes by KNA Catering Solutions
KNA Catering Solutions will make reasonable efforts to fulfil confirmed bookings.
However, in exceptional circumstances beyond its reasonable control, it may be necessary to modify or cancel a booking. Examples may include serious illness, accidents, fire, equipment failure, interruption of essential services, extreme weather, government restrictions, supplier failure or other circumstances that make the provision of the agreed service impractical or unsafe.
Where KNA Catering Solutions is unable to fulfil a confirmed booking, the client will be notified as soon as reasonably possible and appropriate arrangements regarding payments already made will be discussed, subject to applicable law.
09Menus and Food Availability
Menus are prepared according to the quotation or order accepted by the client.
KNA Catering Solutions reserves the right to make reasonable substitutions where a particular ingredient or product becomes unavailable. Any substitution will, where reasonably possible, be of a similar nature, quality and value.
For larger events, menu substitutions may be necessary due to seasonal availability, supplier shortages or circumstances outside KNA Catering Solutions' reasonable control.
Clients will be informed of significant substitutions where reasonably practicable.
10Dietary Requirements and Allergies
Clients must inform KNA Catering Solutions of any allergies, intolerances, medical dietary requirements or other dietary restrictions before the food is prepared.
KNA Catering Solutions will make reasonable efforts to accommodate disclosed dietary requirements where this has been agreed in advance.
However, food is prepared in a kitchen where multiple ingredients and allergens may be present. KNA Catering Solutions cannot guarantee that food will be completely free from traces of allergens or cross-contact unless a specific arrangement has been agreed in writing and KNA Catering Solutions has confirmed that it can safely provide the requested service.
Clients with severe or life-threatening allergies should discuss their requirements with KNA Catering Solutions before placing an order.
KNA Catering Solutions provides catering services and is not a medical or dietary professional. Clients with medical dietary requirements should follow the advice of their doctor or registered dietitian.
11Daily Meals
Daily meal orders must be placed according to the ordering arrangements communicated by KNA Catering Solutions.
Weekly menus may change and meal availability is subject to ingredient availability and production capacity.
Clients must select their preferred meal options and provide any relevant dietary information when ordering.
Daily meals may be collected from the designated collection point in Table View or delivered where delivery has been arranged.
Delivery charges depend on the delivery area and will be confirmed when the order is placed.
12Delivery
Where delivery is included or arranged, the client must provide an accurate delivery address and any relevant access instructions.
The client is responsible for ensuring that someone is available to receive the order at the agreed delivery time or within the agreed delivery window.
KNA Catering Solutions cannot be held responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including traffic, road closures, accidents, severe weather or incorrect delivery information supplied by the client.
Additional delivery charges may apply where a delivery cannot be completed because the recipient is unavailable or the supplied address or instructions are incorrect.
13Collection
Clients collecting meals or catering items are responsible for collecting their order at the agreed time and location.
Orders should be transported and stored appropriately after collection.
KNA Catering Solutions is not responsible for deterioration, damage or food-safety issues resulting from inappropriate handling, transportation or storage after an order has been collected by the client.
14Food Safety and Handling
KNA Catering Solutions takes reasonable steps to prepare, package and provide food in accordance with applicable food-safety requirements.
Once food has been delivered to or collected by the client, the client is responsible for following any storage, serving and reheating instructions provided.
Food should be consumed or stored appropriately within the recommended timeframe.
KNA Catering Solutions cannot accept responsibility for food that has been improperly stored, transported, reheated or handled after delivery or collection.
15Event Setup and Venue Requirements
Where setup, serving, clearing or other onsite services are included in a quotation, the scope of those services will be agreed with the client beforehand.
The client is responsible for ensuring that KNA Catering Solutions and its staff have reasonable access to the venue and sufficient space and facilities required for the agreed catering service.
Any venue-specific requirements, restrictions, access limitations, parking charges or additional equipment requirements should be disclosed before the booking is confirmed.
Additional charges may apply where unexpected venue requirements result in additional labour, equipment or time.
16Client Responsibilities
The client is responsible for providing accurate information required to fulfil the booking.
This includes, where applicable:
- Correct guest numbers;
- Event date and time;
- Venue and delivery address;
- Contact details;
- Dietary requirements and allergies;
- Access instructions;
- Menu selections; and
- Any special requirements agreed as part of the booking.
KNA Catering Solutions cannot be held responsible for problems caused by incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the client.
17Equipment, Crockery and Other Items
Where equipment, serving items, crockery, cutlery, tables, linen or other items are supplied or hired as part of a catering package, the applicable arrangements will be confirmed in the quotation.
Where applicable, the client may be responsible for loss or damage caused by misuse, negligence or failure to return hired or supplied items.
Any applicable replacement or damage charges will be communicated to the client.
18Photographs and Marketing
KNA Catering Solutions may photograph food, table settings or catering setups for portfolio and marketing purposes.
Where identifiable individuals, private events or guests are photographed, KNA Catering Solutions will obtain appropriate permission before using identifiable images for marketing purposes.
Clients who do not wish photography to take place at their event should notify KNA Catering Solutions before the event.
